Unshakable Counseling
In my life, hope is not an end but a beginning. I have the power of choice. Fueled by Unshakable hope, which is the belief that things would get better if I stood on the promises of God in his word regardless of the circumstances of my past and present. I decided to focus on doing what it took to change my life and the future. According to Jeremiah 29:11, God said this, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
My road to hope helped me see and pursue solutions hidden behind a thick fog of despair due to growing up in a dysfunctional home. I tell others, “You cannot give to others what you haven’t been taught.” My parents lack the hope of breaking the cycle of dysfunction of their past family upbringing. I believe my parents forgot they had a choice to change things.
As a Counselor, I utilize God's Word in my sessions. I had to personally learn to understand human interactions better individually and in a family system to heal. While I couldn’t change the difficult situation of my past, I had to work on myself by applying biblical truths that helped me understand the correction and alignment of the negative perceptions and behavior patterns that hold me back from experiencing God’s plan for my future.
